Earn Aeroplan when you Purchase a Volvo

We recently wrote about earning Aeroplan miles by test driving a Volvo. There is also an offer by Volvo and Aeroplan that entails a bigger earning of 75,000 Aeroplan miles when you purchase, lease or finance one of these luxurious vehicles, or a Volvo S80 to be exact.

Now let’s do the calculations:

• A Volvo S80 suggested retail pricing suggests the vehicle is worth somewhere between $40,000-$49,000 USD. With our current exchange rate, that can easily bring the whole purchase up to about $51,000 to $60,000 CDN. You’re essentially earning about 1.25 Aeroplan miles per every dollar spent for the highest model.

If you own a TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card, you are earning what your card already offers to you, 1.25 miles per every dollar spent. If you plan to go big with the Volvo purchase, you may not necessarily be getting a deal here. However, if you’re fine with the basics, a lower model of the S80 will bring your Aeroplan earnings up to 1.5 miles per dollar spent.
