Cash and Points

As you can see from the descriptions above, there is a lot of value to be had in Hyatt hotel elite status. Furthermore, when redeeming your points for a reward night, there are no blackout dates. You have the option of redeeming points fully or points + cash option. Below are the different categories of hotels:

  • Category 1: 5,000 points or 2,500 points + $50
  • Category 2: 8,000 points or 4,000 points + $55
  • Category 3: 12,000 points or 6,000 points + $75
  • Category 4: 15,000 points or 7,500 points + $100
  • Category 5: 20,000 points or 10,000 points + $125
  • Category 6: 25,000 points or 12,500 points + $150
  • Category 7: 30,000 points or 15,000 points + $300

When you purchase a room with the Points + Cash option, the stay will count towards elite status calculations; however, a full reward night will not count towards elite status.

List of Hyatt Hotels in Canada

In Canada, there are currently only 5 Hyatt hotels. Hopefully we will see more being built around the country.

Hyatt points never expire so long as there is activity once every 24 months, instead of the previous 12 months. You can also read more about our post on recent devaluations at Hyatt. Unfortunately, there are no Canadian credit cards associated with this hotel chain.
