Hotels with Indoor Entry to Canadian Airport Terminals

In light of the new Alt Hotel opening in 2026 at the Ottawa Airport, I thought I would update this post from 10 years ago.

There are many hotels that are considered “airport” hotels that usually provide a free shuttle to the airport. However, there are only a handful of hotels that have indoor entry into the airport terminal. Indoor entry may not seem like a big deal in some places, when in Canada, it’s a really nice to have.

There are many other benefits to having an airport with indoor, but the first one that comes to my mind: imagine you had an overnight layover in Canada in the middle of our cold winters. When planning ahead, you may not want to pack winter clothing to save some luggage space just because of a layover overnight stay. Having a hotel attached to the airport that you can walk right into for a good night’s sleep is an amazing luxury to have. Furthermore, these hotels tend to have certain amenities to make the stay more enjoyable, i.e. bring your gym and swimming clothes. Otherwise, if you have a very early morning flight, it is pretty convenient to be able to stay at the hotel the night before your flight.

Below is a list of Canadian airports with hotels having indoor entry into the terminal in alphabetical order. You will notice that most of the hotels below are generally 4-star hotels with certain amenities to make the stay more enjoyable.

Calgary International Airport (YYC)

The Delta Calgary Airport In-Terminal Hotel is located by the baggage claim at Alberta’s largest city and business airport. There is a decent sized gym open 24-hours. They also have a restaurant called Codo Agave Social House open daily from 6am to 12am.

UPDATED-07/30/2026. The Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is accessible from the baggage claim area. They offer the YAKIMA Social Kitchen + Bar open daily from 6am to 11pm. The lounge itself is open 24 hours, but the food is only available at certain times: daily from 6:30am to 10am and 5:30pm to 11pm.

The Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel is a also a Marriott hotel, this time in the Alberta capital. The hotel is physically attached to the airport terminal via a skybridge. Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ)

The Alt Hotel Halifax Airport Hotel has a covered pedestrian walkway connecting the airport terminal at Nova Scotia’s capital. They offer a well-equipped gym open 24 hours. The restaurant Sosta! Pizzeria is open from 6:30am to midnight. Otherwise, they also have the Altcetera open 24 hours with some grab and go food. The pool is open daily from 5:30am to 10:30pm.

Montréal–Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL)

The Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is connected to the departure gate in Quebec’s busiest airport. This hotel offers 3 dining options. First, there is the Café Illy open Monday to Friday 6am-2pm, but closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Secondly, the Bijou Resto is open from 6pm to 11pm on weekdays and 6:30am to 11pm on the weekends. Lastly, they have a Mobile Dining option open daily from 6am to 11pm. There is the Dorval Spa open Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm and on the weekend from 10am to 7pm. The gym is open 24 hours, as well as the pool and hot tub open from 6am to 11pm.

Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport

The Alt Hotel Ottawa Airport located in Canada’s capital and is the newest addition to this list. The hotel is adjacent to the exit of the multi-level parking lot with direct walking terminal access through a fully enclosed walkway. Just like the Alt hotel in Halifax, they have the Sosta! Pizzeria, but with less generous operating hours, Sunday to Wednesday from 7am to 10pm and Thursday to Saturday from 7am to 11pm. Otherwise, they also have the Altcetera open 24 hours with some grab and go snacks. The gym is open 24 hours.

Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

There are two hotels attached to Ontario and Canada’s busiest airport.

The Alt Hotel Toronto Airport is a little further from the main terminal, but you can easily access it by the Viscount station of the free 24-hour Terminal Link train. Just like the other Alt hotels on this list, they also have the Sosta! Pizzeria open daily from 11am to 11pm, plus limited menu available till 12:45am. They have a breakfast open from 6am to 10:45am. Otherwise, they have the Altcetera Café open 24 hours. The gym is open 24 hours.

The Sheraton Gateway Hotel In Toronto International Airport directly connected to Terminal 3. This hotel has the most dining options. First, there is a sit down restaurant called the &More by Sheraton open from 6:30am to 1pm. There is the take out option at More To Go open in the mornings from 5am to 11:30pm. The In Room Dining option is open from 6am to 1am. Along with the Sheraton Club Lounge which is complimentary for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum & above members. Other guests can still purchase day passes to get in. The are open Monday to Friday from 5:30am to 9:30am, as well as Saturdays and Sundays between 5:30am-10am and 5:30pm-7:30pm. The gym, pool and hot tub are all open 24 hours.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel is situated in British Columbia’s largest city and busiest airport. The hotel is directly above the US departures terminal. The main restaurant, Flavours of the Pacific Northwest is open daily from 6pm to 10pm. However, the In Room Dining option is available 24 hours. The pool and hot tub is open from 7am to 10pm. The well equipped gym is open 24 hours.

Overall Thoughts

There are some decent hotel options across all the major Canadian airports. The only major airport missing is the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG), which has an honourable mention: The Grand Winnipeg Airport Hotel which is steps away from the parking, but no indoor entry.

I would say the Alt Hotel Ottawa Airport and the Alt Hotel Toronto Airport are the weakest link of the bunch. Ottawa is still new, so they may want to look to upgrade their amenities depending on how busy it gets, time will tell here. The Toronto one just happens to be further from the terminal, so a little bad luck there.

On a more positive note, I like the spa idea uniquely at the Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel. The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel would feel the most luxurious one. Finally, the Sheraton Gateway Hotel In Toronto International Airport offers the best overall amenities, with the 24 hour pool and Club lounge putting them over the top.

UPDATED-07/30/2026 – I would also like to pair the Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel with the Sheraton in Toronto with its extensive amenities. (Thank you Darryl! – see comment section).
