Redeem Aeroplan Points for In-Flight Wi-Fi!
Effective December 14, 2020, members have been able to redeem their Aeroplan points for single use Wi-Fi pass on board all Gogo equipped aircrafts on all routes.
Passes are available starting as low as 850 points for select flights under 2 hours. Below are some of the other sample prices:
- 850 points: Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) (90 min flight)
- 1,400 points: Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) – Vancouver International Airport (YVR) (4 hour flight)
- 2,100 points: Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) – Heathrow Airport (LHR) (8 hour flight)
The prices are not that outrageous to me for the short-haul flights, a little expensive for the long haul-flight though.
Members can redeem their points by visiting aircanadawifi.com. Note that the link to the website only works when you are onboard the aircraft. When onboard, Aeroplan members can select the desired pass that you want by logging in with their accounts.
Personally, I love this move by Air Canada. For passengers who do not have other ways to access Wi-Fi onboard a flight, and do not want to dish out their hard earned cash to pay for it, redeeming points for Wi-Fi is an easier pill to swallow.
Having more options to redeem for rewards is almost always a win in my books!
