Overdue IHG Points from Capital One Finally Credited!
There has been a fair amount of discussion on our blog (Last Batch of Capital One IHG Reward Points, Both Capital One IHG Credit Cards Discontinued) about Capital One’s difficulty in crediting the final amount of IHG Points owed to former cardholders.
The former credit cards had the following highlights:
Capital One IHG Rewards Club World MasterCard
- $120 annual fee
- Earn 60,000 sign up bonus points after your first purchase
- Earn 5,000 bonus points for every $10,000 you spend (no limit on how many times you can earn the 5,000 bonus points)
- Earn 5 points for every $1 spent at any hotel within the IHG family of hotels
- Earn 2 points for every $1 on all other purchases
- Receive Platinum Elite status with IHG Rewards guaranteed for the life of the credit card account
Capital One IHG Rewards Club Platinum MasterCard
- No annual fee
- Earn 15,000 bonus points after your first purchase
- Earn 5,000 annual bonus points when you spend over $10,000 (only once per year)
- Earn 2 points for every $1 spent at any hotel within the IHG family of hotels
- Earn 1 point for every $1 on all other purchases
- Receive Gold Elite status on with IHG Rewards for our first year
They were actually pretty decent credit cards, especially compared to the rest of the Canadian market. It was really disappointing to see them both discontinued.
Anyway, the last batch of points finally came in for me. It was credited today, on December 14, 2016:
Thank you for finally figuring things out Capital One! I really hope that you form a new partnership with another loyalty company instead.
I hope that everyone else has the same experience as us. Please let us know in the comment section below!
Very happy to say that I received my IHG points.
I am now using the Marriott Visa but would love another IHG card…
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Glad it seems like they fixed the issue. Phew…
