[PROMOTION] IHG PointsBreak (July 28, 2014 – September 30, 2014) (expired)
IHG Rewards has released its next set of PointsBreak hotels. Every few months, IHG Rewards has a promotion that drops the number of points to redeem from a select list of hotels down to only 5,000 points per reward night. This promotion may be one of the best hotel promotions out there out of all the different companies.
I have taken advantage whenever possible because of the amazing value that I get from my points.
Just a quick reminder that IHG Rewards changed its terms and conditions to restrict Pointbreaks to only 2 reservations per hotel during the Pointsbreak period. It does mean that you can have multiple consecutive nights per reservation. I believe this change was because many people were making a lot of different one day reservations, without necessarily the intention of staying at that particular hotel, they just wanted to lock up the room so that they have the option to use it if they choose to. With no cancellation fees until 6pm on the day of the reservation, it was a fairly generous policy. So I am actually a fan of this new policy, which frees up the hotels to people who actually want to stay at that particular hotel.
