During our flight to Hawaii, our flight baggage did not arrive in Hawaii at the same time as us. It actually arrive 24 hours later. Almost 30 hours if you include the amount of time it took to arrive at our hotel. Leaving from Canada during the winter time means that you have all your winter clothes with you when you arrive in Hawaii which is warm enough to swim in the ocean and lie on the beach. We also had a snorkelling outing booked the next morning, which means we have to buy a new bathing suit, bath table, saddles and sun tan lotion. This came out to just under $100 USD.

If you fill out your delayed baggage form, you should be entitled to $100 per day until your baggage arrives. Generally to a maximum of 3 days, but you will have to negotiate with the agent. You have 45 days to submit your form and it will take about 8-10 weeks to process your claim.

The 8-10 weeks have passed and I received my reimbursement check! It definitely was a painful process to deal with the baggage delay, but receiving the reimbursement check made the whole process worth it.
