Happy Thanksgiving! Yes, the Canadian one. This has become a yearly tradition (2016, 2015, 2014) where I list what I am thankful about in the rewards industry!

1) Thank you for reward programs! I am so grateful to be rewarded for my regular spending. In life, expenses can easily rack up over the course of the year. It is nice to know that we get something in return at the end of the tunnel.

2) Thank you for credit card sign up bonuses! Last year was a much stronger year for credit card sign up bonuses. But 2017 had its fair share of opportunities. Sign up bonuses can really help jump start your loyalty accounts to get the ball rolling.

3) Thank you for survey programs! They have really helped my dormant accounts stay active, so I cannot thank survey programs enough. I hope to see more across the board.

4) Thank you for shopping portals! There is no question that online shopping is taking business away from the traditional stores. It does not help physical stores that shopping portals offer even more bonus opportunities to make the shopping experience even more attractive.

5) Thank you to the community! Lastly, I strongly feel that the miles and points industry has brought together a wonderful community of people. I always enjoy my conversations with anyone who is into the industry. Looking forward to meeting more of you!
