Canadian Air Passengers Required to Wear Protective Face Coverings

Starting tomorrow (April 20, 2020), air travellers departing from Canadian airports will need to wear protective face-covering during various stages of their air travel journey as directed by Transport Canada.

The various stages can include certain points in Canadian airports, during the boarding process and during flight as well as other points during arrival or departure process. These points will be directed by airline or airport staff where social distancing is not possible.

Travellers who do not have their own face-covering (including cloth mask, scarf or similar item) will be provided with a suitable mask at security by Canadian Air Transport Security Authority.

Curious to see how long this regulation will last as there is no current end date.

Keep in mind that the Canada Border Services Agency has already issued a warning to avoid non-essential travel outside Canada until further notice. For travellers returning to Canada, they must confirm at the border that they have a suitable place to quarantine for 14 days.
