[PROMOTION] Earn Double Flying Blue Miles From Vancouver to Paris

Starting March 2015, Air France launches new direct flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). The seasonal service will operate from March 29, 2015 to May 3, 2015, three times a week; it will increase its operations to five times per week during May 4, 2015 to September 13, 2015.

With the new direct flight in place, it will make it much easier to collect Flying Blue Miles offered by Air France.

Here’s some highlights of the Flying Blue program:

  • You earn miles when you fly with Air France or any of its airline partners.
  • Flying Blue miles never expire, but you will need to take a qualifying flight every 20 months to keep them active in your account.
  • Flying Blue miles can be used to purchase Award tickets or products which are offered by Air France

It doesn’t reveal exactly how many Award Miles are earned, but with their simple online Miles calculator, a flight from Vancouver to Paris can potentially earn you up to 4,933 Award Miles with their basic Ivory membership. Flights from North America to Europe will cost approximately 25,000 Award Miles for a one-way flight.

If you’re not a frequent Air France traveler, Air France allows you to transfer your Miles to a family member or friends who are frequent Air France travelers. If you happen to fly Air France one time, you also have the option to buy Miles to cover a future trip.

Also keep in mind that Air France is a member of SkyTeam, so you can bank your points with other member airlines.

The last option would be to earn Miles some of Air France’s travel partners include Alaska Airlines and a vast number of International airline carriers.
