[ANALYSIS] More Rewards
Recently, I have been hearing a lot about More Rewards from my friends who live in Vancouver. It seems to be a loyalty program which originated in Western Canada, so I decided to look into it a little more as they offer rewards at National Car Rental which is located across the country. More Rewards allows you to earn points at local grocery stores, which seems to be their main focus, but you can also earn at hotels and car rental companies.
There are quite a number of options on how you can earn More Rewards:
Partners | Benefits | Locations |
Chevron | Earn 1 pt per dollar for fuel and convenience store purchases | British Columbia, Alberta |
Jim Pattison Auto Group | Earn 1 pt per dollar for Parts, Service and Accessories | Greater Vancouver, Victoria, British Columbia Duncan, Nanaimo, Winnipeg and Edmonton |

Generally, you can find that More Rewards points are located in the Western part of the country, mostly in Alberta and British Columbia, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of them while you’re travelling over on the other side. If you’re a huge car rental fan, you can also bank your points to More Rewards when you rent at National Car Rental. The More Rewards MasterCard will also allow you to earn 3 points per dollar spent anywhere.
One benefit is that you do not need to bring your membership card around with you at all times. If you forget your More Rewards member card, you can bring in your receipt the next time to have the points added back into your account.
I am very surprised to see many places in which you can earn More Rewards, it seems to be a very popular program in Western Canada. If you already shop at these locations, I would recommend spending a bit more time thinking about the loyalty program and how you can benefit from its rewards. I will speak about the type of rewards they offer in a future post.
