[HOTEL] 2015 Reward Chart Changes with Marriott
It is now Marriott’s turn to release its reward charts changes for 2015 that will come into effect on March 19, 2015. You may be interested in the following overall statistics:
- 64% of the properties remain unchanged
- 64% of the programs properties will remain in Categories 1-4
- 36% of the hotels are changing (of which 25% are decreasing and 75% are increasing)
Below is a list of Canadian Marriott hotels that are affected by the changes:
Increases
- The Rosseau, A JW Marriott Resort & Spa goes from Category 7 to 8
- Quebec City Marriott Downtown goes from Category 7 to 8
- Residence Inn Vancouver Downtown goes from Category 6 to 7
- Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel goes from Category 6 to 7
- Courtyard Montreal Downtown goes from Category 6 to 7
- Residence Inn Toronto Downtown/Entertainment District goes from Category 6 to 7
- Montreal Airport Marriott Hotel goes from Category 5 to 6
- Fairfield Inn and Suites St John’s Newfoundland goes from Category 4 to 5
- Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel goes from Category 4 to 5
- Courtyard Edmonton West goes from Category 4 to 5
- Fairfield Inn & Suites Vernon goes from Category 3 to 4
- Fairfield Inn Guelph goes from Category 1 to 2
Decreases
- Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel drops from Category 5 to 4
- Residence Inn Halifax Downtown drops from Category 5 to 4
- Residence Inn Ottawa Airport drops from Category 4 to 3
- TownePlace Suites Red Deer drops from Category 4 to 3
- Courtyard Toronto Vaughan drops from Category 4 to 3
- Fairfield Inn and Suites Winnipeg Airport drops from Category 3 to 2
- Courtyard Winnipeg Airport drops from Category 3 to 2
If you have a reward booking in mind, you will want to keep March 19, 2015 in mind to determine whether it makes more sense to make your reservation before or after the changes, depending on the hotel that you are keeping an eye on.
