List of Airline Alliances (updated March 17, 2016)
The list of airline alliances needs an update from last time. Most of the changes came with the main airline affiliates (which I identified below in bullet format).
As you already know, I collect miles for at least 1 airline per alliance:
- Star Alliance: Air Canada (Aeroplan)
- Oneworld: British Airways (Executive Club) and American Airlines (AAdvantage)
- SkyTeam: Delta Air Lines (Delta SkyMiles)
The main reason for this diversity is in case I need to purchase an airline ticket (as oppose to redeeming miles for a reward flight), I can load up my miles to any of the frequent flyer programs without missing out on earning.
Below is a list of all the memberships within 3 major airline alliances, along with changes in brackets:

Thanks for the heads up! Will be including that in the next update!
Do you know if SATA (Azores Airlines) belongs to an alliance? Yes, I looked through their website(s). They’ve been rebranding SATA as Azores Airlines. They have a point program (Imagine) but I cannot see any information on its convertibility with other programs, etc. I think SATA is independent of TAP Portugal.
Hi Bryan, your research is correct, unfortunately they are currently not part of any alliance.
