[PROMOTION] Earn 40,000 Points with the CIBC Telus Rewards Visa Card
With so many credit cards discontinuing lately, it is nice to see a financial institution adding to its portfolio. The latest addition is the CIBC Telus Rewards Visa Card. There is a promotion to earn 40,000 Telus Rewards points, which expires on May 15, 2015. To qualify for this offer, you need to complete 3 steps:
1) Open a new, eligible CIBC chequing account (CIBC Unlimited Chequing Account, CIBC EverydayPlus Chequing Account or CIBC PremierService Account)
2) Pay a bill or send an INTERAC e-Transfer using CIBC’s Mobile or online banking services to receive 10,000 points
3) Set up and complete a direct deposit or 2 eligible pre-authorized payments from the new account to receive the additional 30,000 points
The highlights of the credit card are as follows:
- No annual fee
- Earn 1.5 point for every $1 spent on Telus (bill payments, accessories, devices), gas and grocery purchases
- Earn 1 point for every $1 spent on all other purchases
1 point is worth 1 cent. So 40,000 points is actually worth $400 that you can use with Telus. There is no question that anyone who is a Telus subscriber should be getting this credit card and taking advantage of the sign up bonus. The only catch that those bank accounts that you need to open have some sort of fee. But those fees are set off by the 40,000 points anyway.
