Here you can see that a few cards like the RBC British Airways Visa Infinite Card and Scotiabank American Express Platinum Card offer a generous coverage for trip cancellation with an amount of $2,500 per person. Credit cards such as the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card and Capital One Aspire Travel World Elite MasterCard offer trip interruption coverage of up to $5,000 per person for a maximum amount of $25,000. While some credit cards require you to charge a payment of your travel expenses to the credit card, some just require you to just have the card in your wallet! This is great if you plan to put your expenses on credit cards which will earn you a little more. Ultimately, if this section applies to you, you may want to consider using a card which has a higher payout in case an interruption or cancellation does occur.
obviously not a post aimed at USA based readers
Any chance of digging a bit deeper and mentioning all the cards that will cover costs (taxes, YQ, etc) on cancelled award bookings? I think there is the assumption that insurance only covers the cost of purchased tickets.
Hey Jim,
Yeah for sure, I will definitely release a post on that shortly. Thank you for your input!
If you need any immediate assistance, I can also personally email you.
As per jim’s comment, particularly for which card insures regardless of travel having been paid with the card or not.
Yes definitely! The post will be released shortly.
