30% American Express Transfer Bonus to Hilton and Marriott

A few days after I wrote my comparison post regarding the U.S. and Canadian American Express Membership Rewards program, and I mentioned that we rarely see transfer bonuses in Canada as we do in the U.S., in pops a 30% hotel transfer bonus. This offer runs from September 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021.

For the Canadian hotel partners, there are currently two valuable options.

• Hilton Hotels and Resorts (Hilton HHonors): 1,000 points = 1,000 points (5 days)
• Marriott Hotels and Resorts (Marriott Bonvoy): 1,000 points = 1,200 points (5 days)

With the 30% transfer bonus, now the transfers look like this:

• Hilton Hotels and Resorts (Hilton HHonors): 1,000 points = 1,300 points (5 days)
• Marriott Hotels and Resorts (Marriott Bonvoy): 1,000 points = 1,560 points (5 days)

I personally already took advantage of this offer. Note that when you transfer, you will need see the 30% bonus when you accept the terms and conditions. So you will want to follow up closely to ensure the 30% comes through.
