MBNA Amazon Credit Card Back Online!
The MBNA Amazon.ca Rewards MasterCard (MBNA, Amazon link)seems to be back in action. This was also reported by fellow blogger Rewards Canada. I was waiting to see if any changes would be made to the card, because I do not believe that it was an accident nor a glitch that it was taken offline.
Looks like nothing as changed:
- No annual fee
- Earn 5% back at Amazon.ca, grocery stores, and restaurants (for 6 months on the first $3,000 in eligible purchases)
- Earn 2.5% back (Prime members) on Amazon.ca, Whole Foods Market purchases, as well as foreign transactions
- Earn 1.5% back (non Prime members) on Amazon.ca and Whole Foods Market purchases
- Earn 1% back other purchases
Keep in mind that cash back is earn in the form of points. Every point is worth 1 cent, so 2,000 points is $20 in Amazon.ca gift card, which is also the minimum threshold to redeem your points.
Because this card has no annual fee, I would say that it is a no brainer for Amazon Prime members because a 2.5% cash back for online purchases is a decent return, especially for a no fee card. Non Prime members can think twice about getting this card.
