RBC 20% Conversion Bonus to Asia Miles (expired on August 31, 2015)
RBC Rewards is offering a 20% conversion bonus to Asia Miles between July 1, 2015 and August 31, 2015. You need to convert a minimum of 10,000 RBC Rewards points into 10,000 Asia Miles. This promotion means that you will receive 12,000 Asia Miles for the same 10,000 RBC Rewards.
If you also have the RBC Cathay Pacific Visa Platinum, you can jump start your Asia Mile account with a 15,000 sign up bonus. There are several other ways that Canadians can rack up Asia Miles, so this can be a worthwhile transfer bonus promotion for some of you.
Furthermore, don’t forget about the 50% Avios bonus promotion expiring tomorrow, July 15, 2015. Personally, I prefer the 50% Avios transfer bonus, but as usual, you need to decide what your needs are to determine which is the best move for you.
Keep in mind that both Avios and Asia Miles are loyalty programs that are members of Oneworld alliance, which can make these points very valuable.
Matthew, I’m intrigued about this article. I live in Asia (Thailand) and have just begun researching Asia Miles. I’m curious to know how to evaluate the benefits between Asia Miles and Avios. I would primarily fly back to North America? Asia mIles is completely new to me.
Hi Darren, both Asia Miles and Avios are miles that you can use for Oneworld alliance. If you earn points equally, I would go with Avios over Asia Miles. But the best with be to channel your energy towards programs that you can earn miles more easily with, especially with credit card sign up bonuses. The best choice is to pick the program that you can accumulate more miles with more easily.
Sweet, thank you. Use my RBC Infinite for most purchases, so like use that and count on the transfer program, but have never used avios before, so just checking. 🙂
