Best Current First Year Fee Waived Cards for January 2020
For this month, all BMO offers ended last month, but all ended up being extended until May. So if you missed out, you have another opportunity to sign up for those cards.
The card that I would pay close attention to is the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite Card, which relaunched its 10% cash back (first the first 3 months up to $2,000 in spending) and first year fee waived promotion. Historically, this has been the best offer with this card.
Otherwise, for the rest of the list, all offers run until at least early March 2020.
Ongoing First Year Fee Waived Offers
The reason I left this list (ongoing offers) up is that there are so few (just 2 really) permanent first year fee waived offers. So they are worthy of being highlighted. Meridian Bank is the only company willing to do this at the moment. Every other company has first year fee waived offers during a specific promotion period.
That being said, even though Meridian has a permanent offer with no end date, it also means that it can be terminated at any time.

When applying for the CIBC Aerogold Visa Business Card, what kind of paperwork do you have to provide about your business? Are they very demanding and do you have to go get your card in person at the bank?
You have to go in branch to provide a copy of the Master Business Licence if applying as sole proprietorship and to complete a profile. Once that it done, the card arrives in the mail in about a wek.
Thanks for the response CanadaPointsGuy. Yes and yes, Sebastien, you need to go in person and they are demanding about what information to provide.
