Credit Cards with Travel Medical Insurance for 65+ Years Old

A Pointshogger reader reached out to us and mentioned that it has been over 3 years since we last provided an update our post for travel insurance for people 65 years and older. So I think that it was appropriate to provide an update. It is not easy to find an insurance company that offers travel insurance to people over the age of 65. Even if you do find a company, chances are it is fairly expensive. So having the insurance coverage with credit cards is a nice benefit to have.

List of Credit Cards

Below is a list of Canadian credit cards that offer some form of travel coverage for those who are over 65. You will notice that most credit cards that do offer some sort of coverage generally charge an annual fee. But you may find some hidden gems who do not have an annual fee.

  1. Very nice list. As I live in the US, any idea if there are any similar cards here or if anyone has compiled a US based list? Thanks.

    1. Good question, the rules might be a little different in the US, which is why it might not be as easy to find a post regarding this topic.

  2. I believe I am correct in saying the travel covered has to originate in your home country, so difficult to piggy back with other coverage
