Rundown of Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific) for Canadians (updated January 10, 2017)

With the new Bill-47 law changes in the province of Ontario, it seems that Asia Miles will probably be affected by this change. As a result, I think that this post is due for an update.

Cathay Pacific has two loyalty programs: The Marco Polo Club (The Club), the loyalty program, and Asia Miles, the travel reward program. This post is focused on the Asia Miles program.

There is a current 30,000 Asia Miles sign up bonus promotions with the RBC Cathay Pacific Visa Platinum Visa. Note that the regular RBC website does not have this offer. [AIRLINE] Expiration Policies (updated on February 20, 2016)

I think that we are due for an update for airline expiration policies, as a few of them have changed recently. I have only listed frequent flyer programs that have a direct way of earning miles with them in Canada. You can always keep these accounts active with co-share or alliance member partners.

First of all, it is important to note that Cathay Pacific has two loyalty programs: The Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles. Members of Marco Polo Club are automatically enrolled as Asia Miles members. For the purposes of this post, we will be focusing on Asia Miles.
