Targeted Back to School Bonus with HSBC Premier MasterCard (expired on September 30, 2015)

HSBC is offering a targeted double the rewards promotion between August 1, 2015 to September 30, 2015. Targeted means that you would need to have received mail with a promotional code. You need to register your HSBC Premier MasterCard and provide promotional code provided in your letter.

Once registered, you will be able to earn double the rewards on eligible back to school purchases for a maximum of 15,000 points or $150 rebate. Normally you earn either 1 point or 1% cash back per dollar spent. With this promotion, you will earn 2 points or 2% cash back for every $1 spent.

The merchant classifications of what is considered back to school include: computer software stores; electronic sales; office, school supply and stationery stores; book stores; family clothing stores; men’s and women’s clothing stores; women’s ready to wear stores; women’s accessory and specialty stores; wholesale clubs; sporting goods stores; game, toy and hobby shops; and equipment, furniture, and home furnishings stores (except appliances).

The promotional points or cash back will be posted to your rewards account on November 2, 2015.

This is actually an amazing promotion, especially considering that there is no annual fee on this credit card. So if you have this credit card, be sure to be on the lookout in the mail. Don’t throw out the letter thinking that it is spam.
