[ANALYSIS] Porter Airlines Destinations

The lack of airline competition in Canada has kept our airline prices a little more inflated than our neighbours down south. But I can’t help but think that even if there was more competition, the prices may not even change anyway. Porter Airlines may not be a major airline on a grand scale, but they do provide a great service and does add to the competition.

Below is a list of current destinations that serviced by Porter Airlines:

  • Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)

Focus City

  • Halifax Halifax Stanfield International Airport Focus City (YHZ)
  • Montreal Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
  • Ottawa Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport Focus City (YOW)

  • Moncton Greater Moncton International Airport (YQM)
  • Quebec City Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB)
  • St. John’s St. John’s International Airport (YYT)
  • Sault Ste. Marie Sault Ste. Marie Airport (YAM)
  • Sudbury Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB)
  • Timmins Timmins Victor M. Power Airport (YTS)
  • Thunder Bay Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT)
  • Windsor Windsor Airport (YQG)

  • Mont Tremblant Rivière Rouge – Mont Tremblant International Airport (YTM)
  • Stephenville Stephenville International Airport (YJT)

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Chicago Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)
  • Newark Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
  • Washington D.C. Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

  • Burlington Burlington International Airport (BTV)
  • Myrtle Beach Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR)

I understand that Porter airplanes will not stretch very far, so they will be concentrated mostly within the Toronto area vicinity. Hopefully expansion plans are in the works, because there is a larger market share to be had.

Other destinations in from the United States that are apparently being considered are: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. I believe that those would be great destinations. Get it done!

In Canada, I believe that Winnipeg is worth a look if it can be stretch that far.
