Full Integration of Delta Hotels to Marriott

We previously wrote an update that 22 of the former Delta Hotels have integrated with Marriott. Now, there is full integration, which also means the discontinuation of Delta Hotels’ former recognition program, Delta Privilege.

Earn Marriott Rewards or Aeroplan Miles.

Earn 10 Marriott Rewards points per $1 USD at Delta Hotels and Resorts. Alternatively, you can earn 2 Aeroplan Miles for every $1 USD spent at Marriott family of properties. It may make more sense to earn Aeroplan miles if you do not want to bother having a Marriott Rewards account.

That being said, I value 1 Marriott Reward point at 0.7 cents a piece, versus 1.6 cent per 1 Aeroplan mile. That means that you are getting:

• 7% return when collecting Marriott points (0.7 cent x 10 points per dollar); versus
• 3.2% return when collecting Aeroplan miles (1.6 cent x 2 miles per dollar)
