Travel Between Montreal to Toronto in 30 Minutes

In 2013, SpaceX founder and billionaire Elon Musk announced a Hyperloop challenge to design what he calls a “fifth mode of transportation.”

A Toronto startup company called Transpod took up the challenge and is looking at designing a high speed mode of transportation that could potentially allow you to travel between Montreal and Toronto in 30 minutes. You can read more about the article here.

I am not even going to try to explain the concept, as it is beyond my comprehension. It has to do with being a super-fast, low-friction mode of transportation using pressurized aluminium pods.

All I can say is, YES, I hope that they can make this happen. Any mode of transportation that is going to make travel more comfortable and quicker is always a welcome addition to the economy. The winner of this competition will be selected this coming summer 2016.

There are always money drain ideas coming up everything. So long as the idea makes sense and is done financially responsibly, I am all for it. I look forward to seeing what will come of this challenge.
