Aeroplan Family Sharing Suspended

We just received a heads up from Air Canada’s Aeroplan that “due to a spike in misuse related to Family Sharing we’ve suspended the ability to create new Family Sharing accounts, including by telephone with an Aeroplan representative.”

This is temporary and will not affect existing Family Sharing accounts, including the ability to add and remove members.

The expectation is that the suspension will be in effect for several weeks before restoring the ability to create new Family Sharing accounts.

It is always unfortunate when a few bad apples ruin it for the rest. The Family Sharing feature is a game changer for Aeroplan members if used appropriately.

Hopefully they do not overdo their checks and balances either and punish legitimate members.
