[DISCONTINUED] American Express Air Miles Co-Branded Cards

UPDATE- Note that the post below are my personal opinion on how things are playing out. As a result, we received a Statement from American Express (April 14, 2023 at 12:02pm EST) to supplement our post below: “Acquisition offers for American Express AIR MILES products are currently not available. We look forward to partnering on a number of acquisition offers for alternative American Express products which provide access to a variety of benefits and services.”

With BMO looking to purchase Air Miles, American Express has discontinued its American Express Air Miles co-branded credit cards. It was really only a matter of time it seems.

All the links are broken now on their website are broken now. If you are an existing cardholders, it looks like you can continue to use your card. But I would expect those to be discontinued in the feature too.

American Express Air Miles Credit Card

American Express Air Miles Platinum Credit Card

• $120 annual fee
• No annual fee for supplementary cardholders
• Earn 2,000 sign up bonus Air Miles upon spending $1,500 in the first 3 months
• Earn 1 mile for every $5 spent on eligible food & drinks and eligible gas & transit in Canada
• Earn 1 mile for every $10 on all other purchases

American Express Air Miles Reserve Card

• $299 annual fee
• $50 annual fee for a supplementary cardholder
• Earn 2,000 sign up bonus Air Miles upon spending $3,000 in the first 3 months
• Earn 1 mile for every $10 spent at Air Miles partner retailers and all grocery stores, gas stations, and drugstores
• Earn 1 mile for every $15 on all other purchases
• Receive Annual Companion Flight (free ticket worth up to 1,700 Air Miles)
• Receive Exclusive FlexFly premium cabin redemptions
• Receive Air Miles Onyx status
