[DISCONTINUED] Hilton HHonors No Longer an American Express Membership Rewards Transfer Partner

UPDATE- It seems that it may have been a glitch in the system. Hilton HHonors has since been added back to the list of transfer partners.

It seems to me that hotel programs are getting less and less affiliation with financial institutions in Canada. Another blow to the hotel rewards world is that Hilton HHonors is no longer a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards.

The remaining transfer partners include:

Airline Partners

  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 1,000 Aeroplan Miles (Air Canada)
  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 1,000 Avios (British Airways)
  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 750 MilleMiglia Miles (Alitalia)
  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 750 Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific)
  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 750 Delta SkyMiles (Delta Air Lines)
  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 750 Etihad Guest Miles (Etihad Airways)

Hotel Partner

  • 1,000 Membership Rewards = 500 Starpoints (Starwood Preferred Guest)

Still a fair number of choices to choose from. Of those choices, Aeroplan and Avios give the best return. The other transfer partners have a fairly dismal transfer ratio.
