Cineplex Wants to Deliver Snacks to your Home
Cineplex recently entered into a partnership with Uber Eats. Basically, Cineplex is launching an initiative where you can rent a movie at home and have your drinks and snacks delivered to your home instead of going to the theatre. You will have to download the Uber Eats App to find out if they deliver to your area. For now, only some parts of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec are being serviced. But the plan is to expand.
There are a couple of promotional offers going on:
- Between June 29, 2018 and July 2, 2018, you can get a free Cineplex Store HD movie rental with any Cineplex order on Uber Eats.
- Get $15 off when you make your first Cineplex order on Uber Eats. Use promo code: CINEPLEXMOVIES (offer valid for new Uber Eats users only, until December 31,2018).
I think that this is an interesting idea and it has some potential, but it will need some tweaking, because the cost of snacks is on the expensive side. And how good is their food really? Not to mention that by the time it arrives into your home, it will not be as fresh.
Maybe if they cost come down and they introduced a food truck that can make the food fresh upon delivery. But with a food truck, they can also catch other customers in the neighbourhood when they deliver, so there is potential for more clients on the go.
Either way, I am curious to see how this plays out, which is why I am writing about it!
