Expedia Loyalty Program
When booking a flight, shopping around and doing the proper research plays an essential part in finding the best prices for your upcoming trip. Being a member of Expedia allows you to access the best deals and bonus offers as you shop. As an Expedia member, you will also be entitled to the extended Hotel Price Guarantee up until the midnight before you stay. Another benefit includes the Best Price Guarantee which gives you a rebate of $50 if you are able to find a cheaper rate online.
The Expedia Loyalty Program allows you to earn rewards in which come in a form of points earning. There is no limit on how many people you can book travel for, which means points can add up quickly if you are the one planning for the big family trip. On the other hand, you can also earn your airline’s frequent flyer miles while earning Expedia points.
Generally, Expedia members can earn 2 points for $1 spent on hotels, activities and specific car rentals. Purchases made on flights and car packages can earn you 1 point per every $1 spent. Expedia member benefits are split into three tiers: blue, silver and gold status. Signing up as an Expedia member automatically earns you blue status, which is essentially the authorization to earn points through Expedia bookings.
After you have spent $5,000 on eligible bookings or stayed 7 nights at qualifying hotels, you will be promoted to silver status. As a silver member, you will have access to free amenities like spa discounts and free drinks at qualifying hotels.
You will also have access to the bonus points accelerator increasing points earnings by 10%.
Finally, after spending $10,000 on eligible bookings or 15 stays at qualifying hotels, you will be upgraded to gold status. As a gold member, you will receive all the benefits the silver member is entitled to along with dedicated customer service agents, room upgrades and flexible check-in and check-out times at selected hotels.
As an Expedia member, there seems to be no conflict with other loyalty programs allowing you to earn Expedia points and frequent flyer miles with your dedicated airline. I would definitely sign up for this.
