[HOTEL] Credit Cards that Offer Elite Status
First of all, the number of co-branded hotel loyalty program credit cards are very limited. That being said, most of them do give some sort of benefit to help you gain elite status of help you accelerate achieving elite status on hotel loyalty programs.
It is such slim pickings in Canada. I am really hoping to see more co-branded hotel credit cards soon.
Below is a list of credit cards and what you need to do to gain or achieve elite status:
Capital One IHG Rewards Club World MasterCard
- $120 annual fee
- Receive Platinum Elite status with IHG Rewards guaranteed for the life of the credit card account
MBNA Best Western Rewards MasterCard
- No annual fee
- Receive a 1 tier elite status upgrade within the Best Western Rewards program when you spend $6,000 on your card within 1 year
Capital One IHG Rewards Club Platinum MasterCard
- No annual fee
- Receive Gold Elite status on with IHG Rewards for your first year
Chase Marriot Rewards Premier Visa
- $120 annual fee (waived the first year)
- No charge for additional cardholders
- Earn 15 nights credit every year
With this credit card, you can accelerate the amount of time you need to achieve elite status with the 15 night credits to help you jump-start your Marriott Rewards account. You only need 10 qualifying nights to achieve silver status, which you will get for having this credit card, and 50 nights for the next level, gold status.
American Express SPG Preferred Card
- $120 annual fee
- Earn an automatic upgrade to Starwood Gold Preferred Guest membership when you spend $30,000 per year
A Hyatt Credit Card would be nice in Canada, or even Hilton because they have the best midtier status for hotel in IMO.
Yes that would be good. Though at this point, any new co-branded hotel credit card would be nice.
