[PROMOTION] IHG PointsBreak (November 24, 2014 – February 28, 2015)
IHG Rewards has released its next set of hotels that qualify for the PointsBreak promotion. Basically you only need to use 5,000 points for a reward night. Just a quick reminder that IHG Rewards changed its terms and conditions to restrict Pointbreaks to only 2 reservations per hotel during the Pointsbreak period. It does mean that you can have multiple consecutive nights per reservation.
Unfortunately this time around, the list of Canadian hotels continues to be extremely weak. There are only two hotels this time around:
British Columbia
New Brunswick
This is an extremely poor list for Canadians or people who wish to travel to Canada. I’m not sure what is happening there. I’m not sure if it is an issue with IHG Rewards or the hotels in Canada do not wish to participate in the program. Eithe way, I look to see improvement next time around.
Though on a personal note, I am quite happy with the list because I will be taking advantage of quite a few of the hotels listed in the United States that suit my travelling needs. If you know that you can take advantage of a hotel on the list, I would jump on it as quickly as possible because they get booked up very quickly.
As I have suggested in many other posts, whenever possible, plan your trips ahead of time and be ready to pull the trigger on promotions like this whenever they come up.
