I think that it is safe to say that most of the dust has settled with all the negative publicity with Air Miles.
Negativity with Air Miles
Air Miles was introducing a hard expiry policy of 5 years after miles were deposited, that was going to be effective on December 31, 2016. What that means is that once your miles are deposited into your account, they will expiry within 5 years regardless of expiry. There was going to be a first-in-first-out rule, whereby the miles you redeem will be the ones that were deposited first.

Expiry Policy
Alaska Mileage Plan miles do not expire as long as you earn or redeem at least one mile every 24 months. As a Canadian, there are several options that you can take advantage of to keep your account active.

Cineplex recently entered into a partnership with Uber Eats. Basically, Cineplex is launching an initiative where you can rent a movie at home and have your drinks and snacks delivered to your home instead of going to the theatre. You will have to download the Uber Eats App to find out if they deliver to your area. For now, only some parts of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec are being serviced. But the plan is to expand.

We started this morning with the American Express Canada Press Release, which had a lot of confusion on whether the new earning ratios are in fact a devaluation. Now Marriott issued their own Press Release explaining some of the changes to their reward redemption schedule.
