Maximising Value of Cineplex’s CineClub

Our previous post entitled: “Is the Cineplex’s CineClub Worth it?” has been quite popular as of late. So we thought we would dive a little deeper into the value of the program.

A little background first. Scotiabank has entered into a joint venture with Cineplex to own and operate a rewards program called Scene+, which has gone through a major revamp the past couple of years. Previously, Scene+ was solely controlled by Cineplex. More on Scene+ later in the post.

[PROMOTION] 30% Transfer Bonus to British Airways Avios (Last Chance)

RBC is one again offering a 30% transfer bonus to British Airways’ Executive Club, which is the same 30% offer exactly 6 months ago (between October 3, 2022 and November 16, 2022). Conversion bonuses are an amazing way to boost account balances without any extra cost or effort (aside from having the transferable points readily available).

Aeroplan and Parkland (Journie Rewards) Team up!

Air Canada’s Aeroplan and Parkland’s Journie Rewards are teaming up to increase earning and redemption opportunities.

Parkland owns and operates Canadian gas stations including Ultramar, Chevron, Pioneer, Fas Gas, and ON the RUN and Marché Express. These stations allow customers to earn Journie Rewards, which we are a big fan of. The partnership is set to launch in the fall of 2023.

[DISCONTINUED] American Express Air Miles Co-Branded Cards

With BMO looking to purchase Air Miles, American Express has discontinued its American Express Air Miles co-branded credit cards. It was really only a matter of time it seems. 

All the links are broken now on their website are broken now. If you are an existing cardholders, it looks like you can continue to use your card. But I would expect those to be discontinued in the feature too.

Rundown of Journie Rewards (March 14, 2023)

Chevron, Ultramar and Pioneer have teamed up to offer a loyalty program called Journie Rewards. The program allows members to earn points when spending money at their gas stations. Today, we will provide an update to our last post, as there have been a few changes since then.

BMO Bailed Out Air Miles?

March 10, 2023 was a crazy day for Air Miles collectors. At the beginning of the day, it was announced that LoyaltyOne Co. (which offers Air Miles) had gone into bankruptcy protection. The fear was that member  miles would be lost forever!

Later in the day, BMO Financial Group signed a deal to acquire the Air Miles rewards program from LoyaltyOne Co.. As a result, below is a screenshot what we might currently see on the Air Miles website:
