[ANALYSIS] Hertz Gold Plus Rewards
I don’t normally travel by car, but recently a bunch of my friends have been talking about taking a spontaneous road trip so I decided to look into some car rental loyalty programs. I noticed that Hertz has a really good program for their frequent “car renters”, called the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards.
As a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member, you are entitled to the following benefits:
- You can earn one Gold Plus Rewards Point per dollar spent at qualifying Hertz locations.
- Gold Plus Rewards Points can be used for free rentals on specific car models.
- As a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member, you can reduce your wait in line as well as paperwork!
- You can redeem points any time just by clicking onto Hertz.com.
The great thing about collecting Hertz loyalty points is that there are no expiration dates nor is there any blackout dates. You can earn rewards at any time, such as a Free Weekend day for 500 Gold Plus Rewards points. Also, signing up for the program is free, so you don’t have to worry about making any annual payments for joining. For every $1 spent on Hertz products and services, you will earn 1 qualifying Hertz point.
If you don’t feel that you’ll use the program enough for car rental rewards, you can always transfer your points to a Hertz airline partner. I love this part of the program the most as Hertz has a vast number of qualifying airline partners such as Aeroplan, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Porter Airlines to name a few and many more around the world.
Personally, I don’t think I would be using Hertz a lot, but for an unexpected road trip it would definitely be worth it to bank in some points and transfer it over to a loyalty program you frequent.
