1. Please tell us about yourself and your role with Plastk?
My name is Baba Alakija and I’m the Business development specialist with Plastk Financial & Rewards Inc.
I am responsible for the affiliate relationships between Plastk and our local and national business partners. We bring the best Secured Credit card to those Canadians that need it the most i.e. people with low credit, new immigrants, students & anyone who is looking to earn rewards with their Secured Credit Card.
We also focus on credit education and financial literacy while we help our customers build, maintain and maximize their credit
2. The Plastk Secured Credit Card is one of the rare Secured Cards that offer rewards for spending, how did this go about?
The Canadian financial landscape is tilted towards people with good credit. This leaves out a large section of society that does not have high credit scores. We chose to address this issue and create a new Secured Credit product that not only gives these customers access to credit but also benefits them with rewards that they were not getting from the current products in the market.
We believe that everyone should have access to premium rewards and services regardless of credit history especially when trying to build or rebuild your credit with everyday transactions and purchase habits.
3. For hockey fans out there, can you share more about the partnership with the Vancouver Canucks?
We had partnered with the Vancouver Canucks in 2021 and were the official Secured Credit Card of the Canucks. Being a Canadian company, we were proud to have been a sponsor of one of the premier NHL teams in Canada’s national sport.
4. What else can we look forward to with Plastk in terms of his rewards program?
We have some very exciting new products coming through the pipeline that are very focused on increasing our premium reward offerings and giving our customers access to new local and national businesses with their exclusive offerings. We will have a new rewards app with even more brands, products, services that will give our customers accelerated rewards that they can earn & spend at businesses across Canada.
