[LOUNGE] Benefits of Lounge Access
In Canada, there are 3 main lounges that you can access at the airports: Maple Leaf Lounge, Plaza Premium Lounge and Priority Pass. I often get questions on what are the benefits of having lounge access. Here is a list of some of the benefits that you may receive in a lounge that is otherwise not available at a regular gate:
Personal Assistance
The airline employees in the lounges can assist you with your same-day travel needs (e.g. seat assignment). This is especially helpful if you have a flight delay or cancellation. The staff in the lounges can assist you with rebooking, so that you do not have to wait in the long customers service line-ups.
Comfort Seating
The seating area in the lounges are suppose to be ergonomically correct furnitures to maximize the comfort of the passengers.
Cell-Free Quiet Zone
Cell phone usage is not permitted in some lounges, so less disruptions while you rest.
Complimentary Food and Beverages
Who does not like free food and drinks?
Free Publications
Lounges are usually pretty stocked with popular magazines and newspapers.
Business Centres
This is especially useful for business travellers who need access to workstations, printers, copiers and faxes. There may also be conference rooms for private meetings.
High Speed Internet and Wireless
Most airports already have free Wi-Fi already. But it in case it doesn’t, you can use the Internet in the lounges.
Showers, Beds
These features can be especially useful if you are stuck in an airport for a long period of time.
