[TRAVEL] Safe Travels All Year Round
Sometimes, it may not be easy to travel depending on many factors, whether it is the weather or if the aircraft is in operating condition and so on. For those living in colder climates, such as us Canadians, it makes it even harder for us to sit on a flight that is not delayed (or cancelled).
This morning, Air Canada made a decision to land its Flight AC624 in Halifax after having analyzed the weather and runway conditions. According to The Canadian Press, both pilots operating flight AC624 concluded that it was safe and suitable for landing after communicating with the Halifax airport ground crew.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances which were caused by the large snowfall in Halifax forced the aircraft to skid off the runway, sending 133 passengers in fear. We are very fortunate to hear that no serious injuries occurred to the passengers and flight crew on board.
Precipitation is one of the most difficult factors to predict accurately when taking a flight anywhere. We may have delays or cancelled flights based on the severity of weather conditions. Although travelling is an exciting and relaxing activity, most importantly is our safety.
Pointshogger would like to send out our regards to all the passengers and crew members of Air Canada flight AC624, hoping that you are all safe and have united with your loved ones.
