I just wanted to put a disclaimer before I got this topic going. I’m not trying to brag or show off. But I do want to answer a frequent comment that I hear: “Matt, I don’t know how you do it” (i.e. the miles and points game).
You have probably seen lots of blogs posts and videos mentioning “top habits that rich people do or don’t do” lately. So I thought I’d write a post with a similar theme.
Several promotions expired at the end of October, so there are quite a few changes and extensions this month.
Note that we also have two other types of monthly lists going on:
Top Cash Back Credit Card Offers
Top Higher than Normal Sign Up Bonus Offers
Over the years, Pointshogger has accumulated a wealth of shopping tips:
2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

Today we are interviewing the legendary Randy Petersen. Found of BoardingArea, as well as FlyerTalk, InsideFlyer and Freddie Awards. We wanted to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer some of our questions.
As you already know, we publish a monthly Top Cash Back Credit Card Offers. That mostly lists higher than normal bonus promotions. However, with several significant cash back offers, I thought I’d give another type of list a try. The reason is because the industry seems to be putting a lot more emphasis on cash back offers.
Since Pointshogger is about maximing rewards for Canadians, I’ve always told myself that if the industry were to ever shift towards cash back, miles and points would have to take a back set. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you see it) in Canada, there were many co-branded airline and hotel credit cards that have discontinued over the past few years.
As you probably hear already, Air Canada moved closer to buying out Aeroplan for $450 million.
I was still holding out hope that this deal would fall through. I was really hoping to see what would happen with Aeroplan’s initiatives, especially with Porter Airlines. Guess it will essentially be business as usual with Aeroplan sticking to Air Canada.
