Review of Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ottawa Airport
My brother came into town for business and booked a stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ottawa Airport, so I was not about to miss a chance to stay with him at the hotel.

Most people believe that third party sites such as Priceline and Expedia offer the best prices in terms of hotel room rates, but is this really the case? With the Best Price Guaranteed policy offered by most hotel brands, you can easily find yourself locking in a good deal.
It’s Black Friday and there are deals everywhere as we wish our neighbours in the United States and Happy Thanksgiving! In recent years, both Black Friday and Cyber Monday have been combined into a long weekend of unbelievable discounts assisting our needs into the holiday season.
It is Saturday again, so we’ve got another round of weekly updates for you. This week, we saw the Aeroplan conversion bonus back, Scotiabank officially taking over the Sears credit cards and a historic merger, pending final approval, between Marriott and Starwood.
Best Western is one of my favourite hotel chains, which has a hotel loyalty program called Best Western Rewards. I do understand that Best Western hotels are not the more luxurious and glamorous. I also know that Best Western Rewards’ Elite statuses are nothing to brag about, even with the introduction of the Diamond Select status. If these are some of your major preferences, then you probably do not need to continue reading my post.
Best Western recently added its newest up-scale brand called Best Western Premier. They essentially renamed some of their top tier hotels under this brand, which is suppose to offer more deluxe features and amnesties. Some of the amenities and services that you should expect include:
There are only a handful of Hyatt hotels in Canada. There have been rumours about a new Hyatt Regency being built in Ottawa, but there is very little news about it. Either way, the current 5 locations across the country all have their own special offers, as we list them below:
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is a Canadian-based operator of luxury hotels and resorts. Fairmont has a loyalty program called President’s Club and operates in 19 different countries. Every 6 months or so, Fairmont releases a batch of promotions that started in October. You can take advantage by booking before December 10, 2015 and by May 31, 2016.
IHG Rewards has released another set PointsBreak offers that is valid from October 26, 2015 to January 31, 2016. This has always been my favourite hotel promotion, which reduces the number of points required for a reward night down to 5,000 points. IHG hotel categories range from 10,000 points to 50,000 points per night. That is what makes the Pointsbreak promotion so valuable. You can potentially find hotel rooms normally costing 30,000 or 40,000 points per night for only 5,000 points during the promotional period.
For only 12,000 points, I was able to stay at the Best Western Fallsview in Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. The location was amazing. As a Platinum member they upgraded my room so we were on the top floor of the hotel with a great view.
