Current 10% and Above Cash Back Offers for January 2022

At the beginning of the month, we predicted that the cash back market is going to heat up this year. So I am expecting to be very busy with updating this monthly post this year. To start the year off, the two Tangerine 15% cash back offers end this month, while Scotiabank has added its Momentum card to the list.

Keep in mind that we still have the Top Cash Back Credit Cards page, which includes permanent and temporary offers if you wish to see a more complete list of cards, not just cards that offer at least 10% cash back.

Note that we have split up the list into temporary (limited time) and permanent offers (indefinite, but can end any time without notice).

Temporary 10% and above cash back offers

These are companies that currently offer 10% cash back bonuses with specific end dates. We listed the cards based on the expiry dates of the promotion by putting the most recent one on top.

Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card

  • Earn 2% cash back on choice of 2 categories (3rd choice if you deposit the cash back into your Tangerine Savings Account)
  • Earn 0.5% cash back on all other purchases

Since there is no annual fee, the total 10% cash back on all spending is $150 (15% x $1,000) in the first year.

Tangerine World MasterCard

BMO CashBack World Elite MasterCard

  • $120 annual fee (waived the first year for applying before December 6, 2022)

Permanent 10% and above cash back offers

Below are the companies who currently offer permanent 10% bonuses. A permanent offer means that there is no end date on the promotion, but it also means that it can end any time without notice.

For this list, we have listed the credit cards in alphabetical order.

American Express SimplyCash Preferred Card

  • $99 annual fee
  • No annual fee for a supplementary cardholder
  • Earn 10% cash back on all purchases in the first 4 months or up to $4,000 on all purchases (whichever comes first)
  • Earn 2% cash back on all other purchases and when the 10% bonus ends

With a $99 annual fee, the net maximum 10% cash back on all spending is $301 (10% x $4,000 – $99) in the first year.

Simplii Financial Cash Back Visa Card

  • No annual fee
  • Earn 10% cash back on restaurants and bars purchases on up to $500 in spending or within the first 4 months (whichever comes first)

  • Earn 1.5% cash back on gas, groceries, drugstore purchases and pre-authorized payments
  • Earn 0.5% cash back on all other purchases
  • Have at least $15,000 in personal annual income

There is no annual fee, so the net maximum 10% cash back on restaurant and bars spending is $50 (10% x $500) in the first year.

Also, note that we also have two other top monthly lists ongoing:
