Top Credit Cards to Use on Road Trips

With the summer months coming up, lots of people intend on going on road trips, so of course, having a solid credit card portfolio with you can help you maximize the rewards on all the expenses that come with a road trip.

On a road trip, the biggest expenses that you will have are: restaurants, gas, grocery and maybe hotel expenses. Therefore, I would build the following credit card portfolio for this summer’s road trips, based on all the current offers available. I also indicated the only the relevant category to use that particular credit card for:

Changes to American Express’ Referral Program

American Express has put a limit on the number of referral points that one can earn in a calendar year. The limit is essentially set at 15 per credit card per calendar year. At first thought, I felt that it sucks that there is a limit. But if this limits preserves most of the sign up bonuses, then I am all for it.

It seems to me that hotel programs are getting less and less affiliation with financial institutions in Canada. Another blow to the hotel rewards world is that Hilton HHonors is no longer a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards.

American Express SimplyCash Referral Bonus Increase
