First year fee waived promotions are extremely valuable. One of the biggest deterrence of signing up for a credit card is a hefty annual fee. By waiving the first year annual fee, customers can get a free trial before deciding whether they want to keep it going.

Top Credit Card Higher than Normal Sign Up Bonuses for December 2016

This is the last month of a very strong year for higher than normal credit card sign up bonuses. Also not listed in my monthly lists are frequent first year fee waived promotional offers.

Of course there is still room for improvement, but compared to recent years, I really do feel that credit card companies have done well this past year. Two thumbs up overall!!

We are on the final 2 months of a strong year of higher than normal credit card sign up bonuses that went along with record high bank profits, which is a nice surprise, because I would think that when banks are making a lot of money, they aren’t as interested in finding new clients.
