Matt has been an avid points collector since 1992 (an elementary school student), when his dad signed up for the new (at the time) Air Miles program. Since then, Matt took a keen interest in learning how the miles and points world works. He quickly found out that there is a lot of value in leveraging miles and points to fund his passion for travelling.

Aeroplan eStore Adds 20 new Retailers

With all the negativity surrounding Aeroplan lately, it is always nice to see some positive news. Aeroplan has a shopping portal called eStore. Shopping portals are ways to earn bonus miles and points through online purchases. For instance, if you happen to want to buy something from Michael Kors, instead of going to the physical store or online, you can go through a shopping portal like Aeroplan’s eStore. The eStore redirects you to the same Michael Kors website, when you proceed with making your purchase online, you will earn bonus Aeroplan miles for something that you were going to buy anyway. Furthermore, double dip when there are 3x or even 5x the bonus miles earning opportunities.

[DISCONTINUED] RBC Esso Visa Card

Is it just me or does it feel like more credit cards are being shut down than introduced to the market? It started with Petro-Canada, now it is Esso’s turn. Seems like gas loyalty programs are having difficulty maintaining their partnerships with credit card companies. You will noticed that the RBC Esso Visa Card has already been taken down from the RBC website. On the Esso website, they still show the card, but mention that new applications are no longer accepted.
